It's a Wrap 2016

It seems like 2016 came by so quick. 12 months-slash-366 days gone that fast. Before letting 2016 go, I would like to thank everyone who made this year awesome and epic. It was definitely one hell of a fucking ride. There were lots of ups and downs but we came through. Thank you all so much.

To my family who has always, always, always been there for me, thank you and I love you all. It's good to know I always have your back :)

To my friends who stayed, thank you for still being my friends despite all the hardships and trials we encountered. You may be few but atleast you're the true ones.

To my mentors, thank you for all the learning. I will do my best to keep them in mind so that I may apply them in the future. And thank you for being patient with me especially in times when I'm so lutang :))

To God, for always showering me with blessings and for always listening to my prayers. You're the best G!

And to everyone who's reading this, thank you! We made it through 2016! Hooray!

If you've been following my blog for the past years, you know that I annually do a year-end wrap it up blog of the top memories of the ending year. And this post is obviously for 2016!

Palarong Med 2016
This came in like a mini vacation from med school. Early morning roadtrip to Cavite with my team mates. Morning parade then comes the mini games on day 1. We won all our day 1 games both men and women wohoo! Then we bond at night, drinks, pizza and swim for fun before the big day. Ended up in 3rd place for the women's team. Aiming for gold this year! We can do this ladies! :)

Ilocos Trip
This was definitely one of the highlights of 2016! Had a 3-day adventure with my med school friends a month before our clerkship starts. Had sooooooooooooooooo much fun in this trip! There should be a part 2 coming soon! :)

Fear of snakes
Finally conquered it! I was so scared at first but I told myself, heck yea I'm doing this. This was taken at Baluarte, Vigan on our day 1 of the Ilocos trip.

Legazpi Trip
After the Ilocos trip, I went to my hometown to spend the rest of the summer before I start clerkship. Went to Legazpi with my Ms. Camalig ladies for another adventure. One of the places we went to was the Quitinday underground river. It was sooo beautiful. It was my first time to see an underground river too. Stayed the night at Debbie's then went to see this year's Palarong Pambansa too :)

Clerkship
12 months of it. I'm ready.

First OR assist
I never wanted to be a surgeon, considering all the risks while doing the operation with all the structures you could accidentally hit. But after my first legit assist on my neurosurgery rotation, I suddenly liked to become a surgeon. I don't know what my future holds, but let's see. :)

Housestaff 2016
Definitely one of the most memorable moments in my clerkship experience. All the from-duty practices, while on duty practices, sweats and pagod, it all boiled down to this, Dec 17 housestaff 2016. We did our best and we are so proud of each and everyone of us. We did not fail. #weDeliver

First holidays away from home
Being a doctor comes with a great price, including holidays away from home. This was my first time spending the holidays away from my family. I was on duty on Christmas Eve and I'm in Quirino for my outside rotation. It was not easy being in a toxic rotation during a special day. But I'm thankful for my co-clerks and residents for making this day as special as it should be despite the toxic-ness our patients are giving us. Sorry mga mothers :)) I was still able to celebrate noche buena on time and with lots of people pa instead of just me alone <3

My first self-bought planner
Got myself a Kikki.K Personal Sage planner! Bought it with my own earnings! My previous planners were planners that I won from giveaways and this is the first planner that I personally bought. I'm so happy with this beautiful planner, it's so pretty! <3

Thank you 2016 for the hardship, trials and ups and downs. They will all serve as learning.

"I never lose. Either I win or I learn."

All hopes up for 2017. This is our year. I'm ready to claim it!
