Holiday reads part 1

Haven't been really on the "read mood" lately because of all the christmas buzz and rush. But at least I was able to read 2 since my christmas vacation started!

Bought 6 books from the #romanceclass bundle that my favorite Filipino author, Ms. Mina Esguerra, is organizing last november. I was so stoked to read them but can't squeeze it in my busy medschool sched. So I took the chance once my vacation started.

The first book I got to read was Save the Cake by Stella Torres. Cakes and cupcakes are becoming a huge business nowadays. Well this book goes out to all the bakers out there! But bakers or not, every reader will surely love this book.

I'm not into cakes and cupcakes myself but I loved this book! It has a sweet story about family, relatives, sweets and love. It's quite funny when I found myself relating to what happened to Eloisa and Gino. Hahaha. Let's not focus on that side of the story by the way. Haha. Anyway, Sean Alvarez looks so handsome by the looks of his description in the book. Plus he's very family oriented which I think every girl is looking for from a manly man, if you know I mean.

In the end, my rate for this book in goodreads is 4/5. :)

Book 2: The Real Score by Kesh Tanglao

I love this book! Huhu. I got teary eyed towards the ending. T_T

If you are my follower on twitter, you'll notice that I tweet a lot about this book the time I was reading it. Mainly because I see Marcus and Caitlin as me and Harry Styles! OMYGOD! Hahaha. This book is a reflection of me and my Harry! I know I sound stupid and hilarious at the same time but I'm serious. Haha. I can see myself and Harry in this book, and One Direction too, of course.

There's this band name Gezellig who's the biggest band in the world right now who came from London which sounded like One Direction who is currently the biggest boy band in the world who also came from England, but not particularly London because they came from different parts of England plus Niall from Ireland, yes I'm a big big big fan of One Direction, deal with that. Then here's Caitlin who didn't like Gezellig at the beginning who took the risk and listened to them and learned to love them, especially Marcus.

Marcus took Caitlin to London which I wish Harry would do to me too. Hahaha! In my dreams! Marcus has green eyes just like Harry. Marcus has tats everywhere in his body just like Harry. In short, Marcus Wayans = Harry Styles. :))

This may sound really shallow but this book made me teary eyed towards the end. Love will really make you do things you don't know you could and would make you take risks you never thought you'd take.

I recommend this book to every huge fangirls out there. You. Must. Read. This. Book. I'm definitely getting a trade paperback copy of this once it's out in the market. Definitely one of my favorites contemporary novels.

Goodreads rate: 5/5 <3

Current-read: Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
(Thank you Charli for this book!)

Happy holidays everyone! <3

What I've been listening to a lot lately

The title says it all. My blog's all boring na so I just had to post one para mabuhay naman kahit konti.

Before I blog about the Catching Fire movie, which I hope will be very soon, let me share to you guys some songs I listen to most of the time since the past few weeks. Plus, malay niyo you might like it. Pandagdag din sa playlist mo. Hihi.

I love how music has always been there for me. Drama. Chos.

And here's the list! Plus some "description" and a youtube video/lyric video too so you may listen to it. Arranged in random manner.

1. It Takes Two - Katy Perry
Ang ganda niyaaaaaa. Sobrang LSS ko na siya ng ilang araw. Huhu. Hahaha. I'm not saying that I can relate, haha, basta this song is almost perfect na if ever perfect exist.

2. Unconditionally - Katy Perry
Her current single. And here's the music video released just a week ago, just in case you haven't seen it yet. Isn't she perfect? Aaaahhhhh. Ang gandang snow princess.

3. Birthday - Katy Perry
Actually, I've been listening to her new album Prism for a number of times already. This one's one of my favorites besides It Takes Two.

4. Grow Up - Paramore
My favorite band of all time! I've been listening to their Paramore album for weeks already and almost mamemorize ko na rin lahat ng songs. Haha. Ganda ng bagong album nila! Listen to it! I'll post here my favorites which is almost all. Haha. Love this song the most! <3

5. Last Hope - Paramore
"It's just a spark but it's enough to keep me going..." Now this song would definitely fit as a Catching Fire soundtrack. Remember what Prim said about hope? Listen to the bass on the 2nd verse!!! Love ittttt!

6. (One of Those) Crazy Girls - Paramore
Because I'm not one of those crazy girls. Lalalalalove it.

7. Hate to See Your Heart Break - Paramore
Slow song na chill lang. :)

8. Ain't It Fun - Paramore
I've always loved this song ever since I first heard it months ago. One of my feel good songs!

9. Part II - Paramore
Song sounds familiar? If it does, then you're a true Paramore fan :)

10. Daydreaming - Paramore
And their new single! New music video released a week ago. Chill song especially made for dreamers who loves daydreaming like me. Haha.

Now you see how much I love Paramore? Yes. I love them soooooo much! Can't wait to see them live again! Hopefully next year! Sana bumalik ulit sila! <3

If you skipped listening to these songs boooo yooooou. You're wasting your precious time not listening to such quality songs like these. =p

Of course I have other songs to listen to besides these. I actually have 1000++ songs on my ipod. These are just some of the songs I listen quite often nowadays.

Go ahead and press that play button!

Sembreak book reads

Hiiiiiiii! It's been so long since I posted anything in this boring blog of mine. I know I've said that I'll update my blog a hundred times and I wasn't able to but this time I'm really doing it!

To tell you the truth I'm actually in my pajamas already while blogging this because I really am ready to sleep but I know I just have to blog this before I go to sleep. I won't be able to sleep without the thought that I was able to publish this, okay? :p

My last blog post was last August 30 pa and to think that I didn't post anything in the month of September. Was I that too busy to not to update? So please forgive me if my side bar (look to the right) is not updated yet. I'm not 21 for all I hope I am. Haha. Anywaaaaaaay.

I know I got too caught up with medschool for the past months and I haven't got time to read any book, but I think I managed to finish 3 books while in medschool. Horay but not quite.

To make it up from my lost of time to read, I promised myself that this sembreak I will read myself to the fullest. I am going to read myself until my eyes can't take it anymore. I'm going to spend my entire sembreak reading books. Yup that's me.

So far, 2 weeks since the sembreak started, I got to finish 6 books already, which I think is cool enough. I'm not a fast reader to begin with so 6 books in 2 weeks is pretty fine with me.

Here are the books I got to finish so far. Took this screenshot from my goodreads account.

Starters was good. Almost the same as Stephenie Meyer's The Host. Can't wait to read its sequel Enders. Maybe soon.

Operation: Break the Casanova's Heart is funny and romantic. Love how the book has a lot of song excerpts mostly from Taylor Swift plus Paramore's Misery Business. Do you know how much I love that band?

South Beach Sizzle is plain cool and very light read. It's full of music too that was basically reggae and cool that we mostly hear from the south beach.

Now we begin with one of the best series, ever, The Selection by Kiera Cass. I think she's briliiant! Thank you so much for these books.

The Selection, book 1. If you want to know the plot, go read it from goodreads because I don't want to narrate it here just so. I didn't expect myself to like this book so much.

Here's America who entered The Selection competing with 34 other girls to win over Prince Maxon's heart.

Who'd have thought! Who'd have thought America would get this far! Prince Maxon's the sweetest prince I've ever met (as if I really met him though), okay I've ever encountered in a book. Have you ever been in love with a fictional character that it hurts you because you know it's just a fictional character and it's very impossible? I know just how you feel my dear.

Then here's Aspen who happens to have America's heart before she entered The Selection but chose to break it even before The Selection starts. He then shows up in the palace as a guard just as when America and Prince Maxon are closely getting into each other. I loooove all the thrill this book is giving me.

From 35 girls, Prince Maxon had to cut them down to only 6, which are now called The Elite.

The Elite, book 2. Now with only 6 girls left, Prince Maxon has to choose only 1 girl to be his princess and the love of his life.

If my head and heart could scream, they would definitely scream Lady America's name, obviously. Celeste's such a btch, Natalie's boring, Elise is a user, Kriss is sweet but not as America's, and Marlee is, well, she has Carter already.

Let's talk about Prince Maxon. I just said that he's the sweetest, right? Well, he really is. He is willing to do everything, anything for America, but America right here can't get herself right. She's having second thoughts between Prince Maxon and Aspen. Oh please girl, please let Prince Maxon win your heart.

The book almost had me crying. T_T It's just so sad how everything is falling apart between America and Prince Maxon just because America can't get her feelings straight. If I were her, I'd definitely, no second thoughts, in no doubt, choose Prince Maxon over Aspen. I know Aspen's her first love and her first of many things, but he chose to let that all go when she entered The Selection and let his head win over his heart. Prince Maxon has my vote now and he deserves someone like America. He deserves someone who would reciprocate the effort and love he always offer. Why not pick me instead Prince Maxon? Mehehe.

The Elite ended so bitin!!! Why Kiera! Whyyy!!! Tapos the third book, The One, is to be released on March 2014 pa. I'm so bitiiiiin! I want to know what will happen among America, Prince Maxon, Aspen, the king and the 3 other girls in the palace already. I can't wait for that day to come, the day that I will start reading The One already.

By the way, I only got to read the ebook versions of the book. I'll wait for a boxset series of the trilogy before I buy the set. Don't worry, I am definitely buying these books even if I was finished already. They do deserve a spot on my library. :)

And about the 5th book, The Prince, it's a short book about the prince, Prince Maxon. It's cool to get to know how the prince was before The Selection. There's another one about Aspen though, The Guard I think, but I haven't read that one yet. It isn't available I guess. But, if you're wondering, yes, I'm buying those two too when they're in the market already.

There's so much more I wanted to say about America, Prince Maxon and Aspen but I don't want to spoil anyone else. You just have to read them yourselves if you want to find out.

But I'm warning you, prepare your hearts, because it's going to be a battle between love and crown.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A quick detour here. As some of you may now my 2013 Reading Challenge, to update you guys, I know I'm going to fail this one, I didn't expect medschool to be this demanding haha. I was aiming to read 50 books this year and so far my progress is only 17 books. I know I know I know don't scold me there hey.

I still hope I get to finish until 25 though. Atleast half will do the justice.

My next read would be Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. It's a re-read by the way. I've read it some time last summer 2012. I just want to read it again to supplement myself for its upcoming movie this November which I can't wait to see! :)

That's it I guess! Have to go to bed already! Good night! And thank you soooo muuuuch for reading this long blog post of mine. Thank you thank you.

Mwaaaa,
Lady Kristine xx

New songs for this last friday of the month

Which means yellow day sa educ kanina! I'm not sure though if until ngayon they still practice that. Pero I saw a lot of students in yellow kanina, so probably they still do.

I don't know if the title of this post can give justice to the main content, but whatever. Can't think of any appropriate one. All I can think of right now kasi is you eh. Ayy. <3

Sorry, I'm so sabog right now. Hahaha. Nakakabaliw talaga mag-aral. All I've been doing for the past 2 weeks is studying! Chos!

But what I really want to share on this blog post are the songs I've been listening to lately. I know it's exams week but a music-lover like me gotta do what I gotta do!

1) Boomerang - The Summer Set
I'm a huuuge fan of this very hot band The Summer Set, plus their drummer Jess Bowen, yes she's a girl, is half-Filipina. Horay! Idol! Kaya nalang I've always wanted to play the drums and be in a band. And I do love their bassist, Stephen Gomez <3 If you want to listen more The Summer Set songs, I suggest you listen to these: Passenger Seat, Chelsea and Punch Drunk Love.

2) Still Into You - Paramore
Can't get over how beautiful this song is. Paramore is just so there! I love you guys. And Hayley. I also listen to their upcoming single, Ain't It Fun, quite the cool one. :)

3) We Can't Stop - Miley Cyrus
I love the song, not the singer, not the music video and don't even begin with the VMA performance. Just the song. LSS for a couple of days too. La da di da di. PS, that's why I'm posting an audio instead of the official music video.

4) Chinito - Yeng Constantino
I'm not a fan of Yeng, but I find this song very catchy and playful. I'm also not a fan of chinito's. Hihi. Really it's just the song that caught my music-lover heart.

5) Treasure - Bruno Mars
All hail Bruno Mars! Huge huge fan here! Always been a follower of his music. Great tunes all the time! This song wakes me up when I feel antok na from studying. Konting pampagising lang. :)

Yan! May bago nanaman kayong mga kantang pwedeng ilagay sa mga iPod niyo. Help yourselves! And you're welcome.

You can tambay here in my blog while you listen to these. :) Enjoy!

Okay, balik aral nanaman. :P

Hashtag: 50 Things About Me

Have you been on twitter lately? I'm not! But I saw one of yesterday's yesterday's trending topic: #50ThingsAoutMe and there were a lot of this hashtag on my timeline too.

Let's keep it short. This blog post will serve as my share for the hashtag but in a blog kinda form. Arayt? I hope I can make it short coz I still need to study Physio for our long exams tomorrow.

50 Things About Me (in random order or degree or chorva)

1. I have a very soft spot for dogs. Those puppy eyes, awww.

2. I love cars, not specifically the movie Cars, but I'm not saying I don't like it, just literally cars, the automobile cars. It's sorta guy thing, but I adore cars, and I can name one from one. Hihi.

3. I'm a huuuuuuge sports fan. Namely basketball, volleyball, american football and moooore.

4. I love the color green, I suppose everyone knows that.

5. I've always wanted to go to the happiest place on earth to date, Disneyland. Who doesn't anyway.

6. It has always been my dream to visit London someday. Paris is just second to that. I want to see the famous Big Ben and London bridge, plus their very own big red bus.

7. I loooove Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle. Faith, hope and pixie dust, I'll always believe in you Peter Pan. And I do believe in fairies! What's Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle's color again? Hihi.

8. I'm a huge fan of Rowan Atkinson, or as famously known as Mr. Bean. He never fails to make me laugh. You're a legend Mr. Bean!

9. My all-time favorite American series is Friends. I know it's a bit old but it's wittiness is very clever, simple and very effective. My favorite Friends cast is Joey Tribiani. How ya doin'? And obviously my favorite Friends love team is Mondler <3 Monica and Chandler <3

10. I also went to a point where I got nothing to do besides watching this British series called Skins. I'm a fan. My favorite Skins generation would definitely be the first generation. Plus my favorite love team and casts would be Sid and Cassie. Such cuties.

11. I'm not a huge fan of watching series, just these 2 series made me do it.

12. I love One Direction. No doubts and shame to that. They're a group of guys who can sing, with good looks to add to that fame, who chased after their dreams. I'm going to cry if I ever meet them. I'm not being OA, I'm just telling the truth. I love these boys.

13. Ever since I was in elementary, I've always been a fan of boybands, namely Nsync and Backstreet Boys. No wonder I love One Direction now. But my love for Nsync and BSB will never fade.

14. I'm not really the girly-girl kind of girl. I'm into guys stuff but I'm a straight woman, you! I just like what guys like and do. That's all.

15. I can dance a bit.

16. I've always wanted to learn how to sing. Haha.

17. But I can play the guitar which makes me half way through there.

18. I'm very musically inclined? I think so. I can play a lot of musical instruments. And I love listening to different kinds of music sooooo much!

19. But what I've always wanted to be good at is playing the drums. Oh yeah!

20. Speaking of music, I'm a huge huge huge fan of bands, like rock bands.

21. My favorite international band is obviously Paramore. Man that girl vocalist is hot and good!

22. Hayley Williams is my number one girl-band slash rockstar inspiration.

23. My favorite opm band is the very dangerous Chicosci band.

24. My all-time favorite song? That's What You Get by Paramore. Most people or girls would prefer a love song, but mine's a rock song. Teeheee.

25. But please don't make me pick favorite songs coz I have hundreds :p

26. I've always wanted to have a purple hair. Wonder when that would happen.

27. I speak fluent sarcasm. It may not be obvious, but it's the truth.

28. I don't know if you don't know this yet, but I own an online shop. I sell fashion accessories, some are handmade while some are not. If you haven't seen it yet, you may check it out on instagram @greenberriesshop. <--- shameless plug. Hihi.

29. I started blogging since I was in highschool. I started on Friendster, yucks jologs, then moved to Multiply where I stayed until 2nd year college I think. Then moved to Xanga, which was so boring, then finally moved and settled here in Blogger in between 3rd to 4th year college I think.

30. My blog has no definite genre. Just a little mix of everything that's happening in my life. A personal blog I guess.

31. I'm quite techy. But I'm not that rich to have it all. I just know a little bit of everything.

32. I do Photoshop a lot.

33. I can mix songs and do this and that to a certain song or songs.

34. I also edit videos which takes me days to finish but with assurance that it's worth the wait.

35. I'm a photographer. I don't know if I can still call myself that, but, I used to be a photographer back in my college years. Been my college's official photographer for 3 years.

36. I also used to be my college's journal's arts editor for a year. That was fun!

37. I don't know how to draw. Loser hands.

38. But I think I'm pretty good with arts and crafts myself.

39. Potterhead! I'm a very very very huge huge huge fan of the Harry Potter series. I'm a follower.

40. I read a LOT of books, going to read a LOT books and reading a maximum of 3 books at a time. Hihi.

41. I have a mini-collection of books where I don't know where to stack in my room anymore. I need a library.

42. I just want to read books all my life.

43. I'm a movie hunter, too!

44. I'm a huge coffee lover. I drink anything that is labeled as coffee.

45. I don't know I just love chocolates. I eat anything made of chocolates.

46. I love to rap my heart out.

47. I easily cry to any tear-jerker stuff I watch.

48. I listen to music or watch a movie or read a book to escape from reality.

49. I'm a follower of Christ.

50. My family is my life.

That's it! That was fun. Thinking of doing this again some time. Haha.

Hafta study pa! Hope you learned a little about my ka-weirdohan. Bahaha. :p

10/50

Before anything else, I want to inform you, as the one reading this, that I am blogging through my iPad which I think is so cool! Hahaha. I think this is the first time I ever used my iPad to blog using the Blogger app. Coz you see, it's been 2 months since my laptop was under repair. I'm really having a hard time updating my blog without any laptop to use. I find it also very hard to study without my laptop with me. But nevertheless, kung ayaw may dahilan, kung gusto may paraan. So here I am! Hoping that this post looks normal in the windows view.

If you've been a constant reader of my blog, you must know that I looooooove reading and that I have a 50-book goal for this year, according to my Goodreads. Sad to say, as of today, I only got to finish 10 books. Awwwww. Which obviously declares a huge failure on my goal. Another awwwww.

Less than 5 months before the year ends again and I'm 40 books behind my goal. If I am decided  to accomplish this goal, I should finish 8 books in a month, which I think will never happen. I have medschool to attend to and medschool is no joke at all.

To update my current reads, here's a cropped screen shot from my Goodreads of the 10 books I got to finish this year so far, from January 2013 to August 2013.

And I've decided to change my goal from 50 books to 15-20 books. 50 is very impossible for me right now. There are more other things I should prioritize besides reading books. But I will never in a million years stop reading. :)

Current read: Before I Fall - Lauren Oliver

What are you reading right now?

In between breaks

Before anything else, how's everyone doing? Don't ask me cause I'm barely getting enough rest. It's our first long exam week and all the study load is stressing me out! I've never had a study load this heavy in my college years that's why I'm having such a hard time. This is what I get for not having a proper science course as pre-med. Oh well, my ranting shall end here.

So, to help me relieve just a bit of stress, I do in between breaks while I study. As far as I can remember, from one of my prof. ed courses in educ years back, every individual has their own learning span and learning limitation. In between this span, we tend to divert our attention to something more "active" and to do something that isn't related to what you are studying.

And as for me, I usually listen to music to keep me awake after every learning span. I am sharing to you some of the songs I currently listen to. This list comprises the songs I listened to for the past week up to the present, especially when I was studying biochemistry yesterday cause it was one damn of a subject.

This list will not be in order on how many times I've listened to it or how much I like listening to it. It'll be in random as I am browsing my iPod as I type these.

1. Mirrors - Justin Timberlake
2. Love On Top - Beyonce
3. Heart Attack - Demi Lovato
4. Right Now - Rihanna ft. David Guetta
5. Still Into You - Paramore
6. Truly, Madly, Deeply - One Direction
7. Sleep Station - Chicosci
8. Daylight - Maroon 5
9. Just Give Me A Reason - Pink ft. Nate Ruess
10. Titanium - David Guetta ft. Sia
11. Clarity - Zedd ft. Foxes
12. Oath - Cher Lloyd

You may check them out on youtube. And let's listen to the same song together <3 Cheesy! Hahaha. :))

Thought I might share these with you my dear readers. Hope it helps! Just a little something to spice up our brains from studying.

What's hot

Howdie! It's been 5 months since I last updated my blog. It was all a huge personal issue. I guess I'm back? Hopefully. Despite all the busy-ness I may have to encounter for the next 4 years of my life.

Anywaaaaaay, what's up readers? I miss my blog sooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuuch! I pray that I may update at least 1 blog post per week.

Basically, I just want to blog because of these 3 things:
1. I'm in medschool everyone! Say hello to that! Who would have thought. Seriously, who would have thought. I'm a math major, please. :)) Huge huge huge adjustment here.

2. I want to share my current playlist. But that'll be in a separate blog post when I find time to do so.

3. UAAP SEASON 76 is up! And we're currently in a 2-0 win-lose standing. Go USTe!

Anyone in here saw today's ADMU-DLSU match? It was intense! And high quality basketball! La Salle FINALLY slipping a win through the Ateneo winning streak against them. I know how heart-breaking it is for the Ateneans to see their team at the bottom, but guys, don't lose hope, it's just the beginning and it's a long way up to the last day of the elimination round. You will get through. :) And props to La Salle for winning! I always knew that this year's La Salle team would be a tougher one compared to the La Salle team last year. It's a good thing UST was able to win despite the overtime though. Haha.

I personally would like to commend Chris Newsome of Ateneo. What a rookie! He's got the moves and the mental toughness an effective player has to have. This guy is future.

That's all for now folks! Have to study for Physio and Ana in a while. Till next! :)

PS.
Please forgive my side bar panel for it still need to be updated, especially my details.

Glob I miss my blog!

Books #3 and #4: Sorrowful Sorrowful Mysteries and The Boyfriend League

Hello bookworms! Here are my books #3 and #4 for this year's Road-to-50-books goal.

Book #4: Sorrowful Sorrowful Mysteries (Kikomachine Komix) by Manix Abrera

It's not actually a novel type of book but it's a book too, right? Haha. It's a comic book actually. It's Pinoy made too! It's my first time to read a comic book by Manix Abrera, and it's pretty cool! I found myself laughing every once in a while. :))

Book #5: The Boyfriend League by Rachel Hawthrone

It's so full of kilig moments! Everyone here knows I'm a huge sports fan but I don't know that much about the sport baseball. And it's one of the reasons why I bought this book, to know more about baseball. Basically, other than all the kilig vibes from this book, I learned a lot about baseball.

This book is so cute. A baseball pitcher falling in love is such a cutie! <3

I just had to blog about these two books together, since I am so late with my book blog posts already. I'm trying my very best to squeeze in blogging in my very busy schedule. Nevertheless, I hope this blog post may help all the bookworms out there in case you're looking for books to read. :)

Current read: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, book #6

What do you think?

UAAP volleyball

I was able to witness the UST vs DLSU UAAP women's volleyball match last January 26, 2013 at the San Juan Arena. Was expecting La Salle to win and they didn't let me down. Oh well UST. Haha. Anyway, here are some of my shots! Used a Nikon D7000 camera. Not so steady shots but atleast! :)

Can't wait for finals! I hope UST can catch up really soon and will make it to the finals! :)

Popped 3 by Chinggay Labrador

Third installment of the book series Popped by Chinggay Labrador.

I don't know if I was able to blog about the first two books, but naah I don't think I was able to. Haha. Anyway, if you love K-Pop then this trilogy is a must-read for you!

I'm not really a K-Pop fan but I'm a huge fan of reading and Summit Books that's why I had to read this trilogy. I am glad I gave this trilogy a chance because it taught me a lot about the K world that everyone's been buzzing around. I keep asking myself, "What is there to love about K-Pop that seems to get all the attention of these people?" And this book probably has some of the answers I have been looking for all along.

There's a lot of K-Pop stuff around here! Besides learning some Korean words we commonly use everyday, I got to explore Korea, the country itself. It's like traveling Korea but in a book. But there weren't a lot of Korea-the-place in the third book. The third book was mainly set in the Philippines. But the first two books mostly happened in Korea where Andie and her friends went to Korea and all the places and details they went to were properly described in the books.

It was like you were in Korea I swear. The first book even made me want to Korea immediately! Only if I had the money. =p

Well of course there were love stories between the 4 main characters, and their Korean boys. Plus the hot K-Hip-Hop band they were all drooling for. I am not a fan of Korean boys, but this Movement boys in the book sounds pretty cool!

I'm not sure if the first two books are still in the market, but this third one is still on the go.

Go read it and learn about the K-Pop world!

Book #1: From this Day Forward

Happy 2013 readers! :)

As soon as the clock hits 12 am of 2013, I started reading this book by one of my favorite Pinay writers, who wrote one of my favorite trilogies, Marla Miniano. I've been a huge fan of hers since my first year in college. She never fails to amaze me with her unique sense of "kilig." <3

And this page smacked me right in front of my face! Talk about getting personal! Hahaha! Why do I have to read a book that exactly describes me??? Whyyyyyy. It is very timely! Reading this exact page exactly on New Year's Eve! Just one of those days when I feel so sorry about myself. Haha. :P

So anyways, here's the first book for my 2013-50-books-goal, From this Day Forward by Marla Miniano.

When a couple gets married, it isn't just their lives that are thrown into chaos.

For Nicholas and Nala's wedding, there's the mother of the bride who is forced to face her failed marriage; the mother of the groom, who revisits the past - and an old love; the bride's best friend who has lost the only boy she thinks she will ever love and with him, all her happiness; the bride's cousin who fooled around with her boyfriend's best friend (who inconveniently turns out to be the groom); and the groom's sister who cannot understand her brother's choice of a future wife.

Surrounding the bride and groom's happiness are the heartache, joys, hopes, dreams and realizations of the people who care about them. It makes you think: does everybody get a chance at happily ever after?

I kinda had a hard time relating myself to the book though because it was all about getting married and I'm not even in a relationship to get into marriage. But I sorta like it too, you know. The book is not really that of a one-plot story. There were different stories from different people and they somehow relate to each other. Each story has its own set of characters and unique plot but are interrelated. It's like within Nicholas and Nala's relationship, there were a LOT of people involved. But they ended up getting married anyway despite all the people involved in their relationship.

The ending is quite cute and sweet. I was imagining the scenario of the ending thoroughly. And I find it really cute. :)

It didn't have that huge "kilig" factor but it was good.

Rate: 4/5

Remember my Goodreads goal? I am aiming to read 50 books for the year 2013 and this is the first book I got to finish this year. So far I have finished 4 books exactly, and will be starting on my 5th pretty soon. Hope you all can keep updated and interested! :)

I've been MIA since what

Exactly 12 days ago! Since my last blogpost. Almost two weeks. I feel such a loser for not updating my baby.

Won't explain further why because I know that you know that I was busy with my preliminary exams that 2 weeks and school is still my priority but I'm 100% willing to make up for it.

To top it off, here's a blog post dedicated to all my book lovers readers out here.

Have you heard of Goodreads? It's a social networking site, well not actually networking, but it functions like an online library. Got that right! An online library! How cool is that, right?

I forgot where and when I first heard it but I have my own Goodreads account since last year, around June. It is very helpful and useful to people who are wide readers like me.

Here are some of the things you can do with a Goodreads account:

  • Keep a record of the books you already read.
  • Track on what's new on the book-world.
  • Keep a list of the books you want to read in the future.
  • Follow your favorite authors and see what they're currently reading.
  • Add friends/people and see what they're currently reading.
  • You can create different bookshelves like, read, currently reading, like-to-read and the like.
  • You can set a goal on how many books you want to read in a year too!
And so much more! You can just come up with anything you want with books on Goodreads. The only thing you can't do is read an entire book on Goodreads. They only have the title, author, summary and reviews about the book. But not the book itself. It's to prevent piracy too.

So head over to Goodreads right now. Make an account. And start reading! :)

Regarding Goodreads' reading challenge, my goal for 2013 is to read 50 books. And according to my Goodreads account, I already read 3 books so far and the book I'm currently reading is my 4th book of the year. Cool! But I'm still 46 short from my goal. Well hey it's just the first month of the year. I may be able to do this goal with no worries!

I want to share the 3 books I read this year. But that'll be in 3 separate blog posts too. That will be soon and this is all for now. I still need to read for my biology class tomorrow.

Good night bookworms! :)

What book are you currently reading?

Let's all match pitch

Have you seen the movie Pitch Perfect? Everyone's been talking about it so why don't we give it a try!

My sister and I had the chance to see it last Tuesday night because we didn't have school last Wednesday. So anyway. We've been so curious about this movie for quite a number of weeks already that's why we really need to see it. Immediately.

And viola! It really is worth the watch. Even worth a 100000x watch! I've been seeing a lot of tweets from people that they're watching Pitch Perfect for the 4th time and the like. I mean with a feedback like that who wouldn't get curious right?

Plus if you're a huge music lover (who isn't anyway), this movie is a must-seen for you. For me it was perfect, just from the title itself though.

Here's the trailer of the movie just in case you got curious too.

Right after you watch this movie, I'm sure you'll find yourself listening to their songs on YouTube. And later you'll even download them. =p

It's just the Saturday evening! You might want to watch it later or tomorrow. Enjoy! :)

If you have seen it, what can you say about it?
