Adios, 2020!

Anyeong! It's been more than a year since my last blog post. So for 2021's first day I decided to write. Just wanted to express and share how memorable 2020 was.

I still have a lot to work on since January is going to be a very busy month for me in terms of residency training so let me just do this before everything becomes a blur in the next few days.

I miss writing so much. I've never really had the chance to sit and chill with my laptop since residency training started. I usually just use it whenever I had to make a powerpoint presentation for a report or something or I had to design polcos or stickers but other than that the bond was never there. I really miss writing. I admit I'm not a very well versed person and I'm a self proclaimed introvert but I tend to share stuff here in my blog preferably.

The year 2020 has been one of the most memorable ones. I bet to you as well. How was it with me?

First of all, was the pandemic that changed the entire earth into topsy turvy. Flights were cancelled, vacation trips were postponed, conferences were on hold, gatherings were prohibited, close interactions with other people were not allowed. In other words, things we usually or normally do were halted.

No one predicted that a virus can change our lives. Just the simple dining out was prohibited and people started wearing face masks which we usually only see during surgical operations inside the operating room, now everyone is wearing them. People were scared. People were frightened of the unknown. COVID 19 was new and was a different kind of enemy.

In my first year of residency training I never expected to face this kind of pandemic. What was originally planned and expected of our first yr of training were all changed. We didn't get to see the cases we should be seeing and we were faced with something we can't see as well. It was a whole new level of battle. But despite the threat this virus has given us, I'm glad I was able to stick around. I was planning on quitting training around mid April to May due to the increasing cases and I was really scared but I tried to hold on. I'm very thankful first and foremost for my family who had been there for me. They encouraged me to go on even though some of them made me want to quit also haha. And to my colleagues, especially my batchmates, who never left and was always encouraging as well. There were duty days where I was crying by myself already because I don't know what to do anymore. I think Dad was guiding me as well :)

This is one of my photos in my PPE early in April when COVID was just starting.

For the second part, was my obsession with Haikyu. I'm not really a fan of anime but I'm a huge huge fan of the sports volleyball. So when I got sick around August, I was bedbound and had nothing to do. I wasn't in the mood to study since my head is hurting like hell and I'm burning in fever, so I just lie down the whole day, when I decided to try to watch Haikyu on Netflix. I've been hearing about it for some quite time already but never gave it a try. So when I started watching it, it was love at first sight. I was able to finish the whole 4 seasons in just a week and was able to finish 4 seasons for 6 times every week. And I was so happy when the final 13 episodes of the 4th season were released in October.

As a huge fan girl, and if you knew me really well, I bought a lot of merch related to Haikyuu. I first bought a volleyball since mine was deflated and had no chance of being played again. I bought stickers, of course, of Haikyuu, made my own stickers and printed them and all sorts of stationery items related to Haikyuu. I was head over heels over an anime I know are not even real. Haha. I was so hooked really. I had to watch at least 1 episode everyday even on my duty days, that's how obsessed I was.

My planner even became Haikyuu themed. Yea those were the days.

But then BTS came into my life. HAHAHA. I won't forget the day that I discovered them. I'll probably do a separate post behind this haha. But I'm head over heels, over the top in love with them right now! I'M OBSESSED! My fan girl level has reached 9999999999x. I never fan girled like this since my One Direction obsession days haha. I was never a fan of KPop and I never thought that I'd like them but these boys changed my life. I swear to God I'll never like any other KPop group other than BTS. They're my first love and definitely my last. And speaking of first love, it was love at first sight when I first saw Taehyung. He's my angel. charaught haha. I love him so much! He's the best thing that has happened to me and my biggest blessing for 2020. BTS is my biggest 2020 plot twist. Right before the year ends they came into my life and made me very happy .These boys gave me so much hope and happiness. Their songs are very catchy and meaningful and their videos are very fun to watch. They make me laugh so hard and makes me fall in love with them so much more.

Currently I have tons of BTS merch in a span of 1 month. Sorry that's just how I really fan girl. And there's definitely more to come. I haven't watched the entire RUN BTS episodes but I'm currently obsessing with BTS In the Soop episodes. I love how normal these boys are in real life. Especially my love, my Taehyung, he's soooo dreamyyy. Anyway, enough with that. I'll just do a separate blog dedicated for my boys coz I think they deserve it.

Soooo that was quite a lengthy entry for today. Hope you were entertained for a while. I'll try my best to be more active here. So long!

UAAP volleyball

I was able to witness the UST vs DLSU UAAP women's volleyball match last January 26, 2013 at the San Juan Arena. Was expecting La Salle to win and they didn't let me down. Oh well UST. Haha. Anyway, here are some of my shots! Used a Nikon D7000 camera. Not so steady shots but atleast! :)

Can't wait for finals! I hope UST can catch up really soon and will make it to the finals! :)

Best of Oh-Twelve

I must say, 2012 has been one of the best years for me! A lot of things happened and here are the top 12 events that made it worth it.

PS. Some of the titles are linked to the blogs I posted about it before. :)

1) Be a Teacher
It was such an overwhelming experience to be able to fulfill a noble profession even for a while. In other words, nakakataba ng puso. Sobra. :)

2) Graduate college with a bachelor degree
All 4 years in college paid of! This is for you Mom and Dad! :)

3) Family trip to Vigan and Caramoan
Because we were not able to do this last year. This the year for it!

4) Opening Green Berries
I had online shops before way back in my first year in college but none of them lasts like this one. I'm so happy I opened Green Berries. It continues to help me seek other opportunities and options where to get money from when I need it the most. And I really love and enjoy what I'm doing!

5) Winning MYX's One Direction CD giveaway
I also learned about One Direction this year, around early of January 2012. And I've been a huge fan since then! That every One Direction giveaway I see, I make sure I will have an entry. Thankfully, I won this one from MYX! Thank you so much for the CD and the mini standee! Love it so much!

6) Entering the College of Science
I'm so used to people asking me what year I am in already and I tell them the story behind it over and over again, that I'm attending school just so I could go into med school and that I already graduated. But nonetheless, a first semester in the College of Science was fun and very challenging for a Math-lover like me.

7) Attend concerts
In this year alone, I was able to attend 5 concerts! That's a new record for me! Usually I only get to attend 2 though, but not this year. It all started with Simple Plan last January, the story behind Jet Lag. Then lots of bands with the Smash Project last March, all thanks to Thea! One of the biggest parties of the year with LMFAO at their Party Rock tour in Manila with my siblings. Barbie-ed with Nicki Minaj last July with my sister Jaja. Right after Nicki was David Cook with my Ninang Pyay for the second time. 2012 was really a concert filled year for me. :)

Simple Plan

The Used - Smash Project

Dashboard Confessional - Smash Project

Cobra Starship - Smash Project

The Cab - Smash Project

LMFAO

Nicki Minaj

David Cook

8) Have my first talk about photography
Who would have thought! Who would have thought that my passion in photography will take me this far? I know! Hahaha. :))

9) Passing the LET
Right after graduation, everyone's been so excited and thrilled about the upcoming board exam for teachers which is called LET. My first plan was to review for LET and start studying science on the 2nd sem, but instead I just went to school and didn't devote any time to review for LET. But thank God, with all my heart, I was able to pass it without the effort of reviewing. What an early Christmas gift!

10) UST grabbing the PCCL Championship
I was in 3rd year high school when UST grabbed its last UAAP champion against Ateneo. In this year's UAAP basketball, we were almost there and were just a bit short. But the team was able to bounce back at the PCCL tournament and won the championship. I'm so happy I was able to witness this win!

Thank you Coach Dopids!

11) Meet new friends
And they're all younger than me! Yung age ko paurong eh! Hahaha. Love you girls! :)

12) Read a lot of books
Another record broken for 2012, the year where I read the most number of books in a year. Woohoo! Yay for 2012! This the year where my being a bookworm grew. The year where I bought a lot of books and the year where I read a lot of books.

And a lot lot more 2012 events that are worth sharing! But these will do. :)

Best year so far, right? And I'm on my way to make 2013 even better!

What's the best thing that happened to you in 2012?

Christmas wish list #4 - #8

First of all I want to apologize in advance because I admit that I won't be able to commit to my promise. :((

But I will still be posting my 12 Christmas wish list, unfortunately it won't be in individual posts anymore. On the contrary, I was able to post 3 in 3 separate blogs, #1, #2 and #3.

Let me begin-slash-continue from 4 to 8...

4) Mikasa volleyball

I can't find my mikasa volleyball, that's why I can't play volleyball. I badly need one so I can flex my muscles again!

5) Green aztec bag

Wala lang. Sabay sa uso lang. =p

6) iPad black and white sticker

Not really this design though. I can't find the perfect design that I want but I'd choose a deck of cards iPad sticker in black and white. That would be so cool!

7) Boyfriend

Para hindi na malamig ang pasko ano ba! Hahaha. I kid! I kid! Was just kidding. I just want these men. *drools*

8) iPhone 5

Who doesn't anyway? Pero hanggang wish list ka na muna.

I'll cope up with the remaining 4! These will do for now. :)

Which of these do you want for Christmas too?
