UST at 400.

Who would not be proud if your school is celebrating its 400th year of existence? Probably none.

University of Santo Tomas celebrated its 400th year last January 28, 2011 with a 1-week celebration in line.

UST is, and still, my dream school. I remember wanting to go to UST even when I was in grade 4. I badly want to study in UST! Since then, UST has been a part of my goals. Lucky enough, I am now studying in UST, my dream school. And a proud Thomasian. :)

Together with my fellow Thomasians, I celebrated UST's Quadricentennial perfectly. And to highlight some of the events, as follow.

January 26, 7AM, everybody's ready for the QParade.

Meet some of my classmates from 3E2.

My college, College of Education.

Along our very own España.

And of course, in front of FEU.

All orange umbrellas are up!

Represent!

 Our very supportive Yellow Jackets.

Simultaneous to the QParade is the Cheermania. Was able to see Education's Rhythmix Dance Troupe.

Indian inspired.

After a long walk along Mendiola to España, a well-deserved lunch at the Educ pav feels so right.

Second day, January 27, 2011, what do we expect, regular class. Was even able to report my manipulatives on instrumentation. Anyway, Countdown to 400 started at 7:30 in the evening.

The ever beautiful UST Mail Building.

The streets of UST all lighted up!

The Quatromonial was finally revealed!

UST's oldest Alumna, Amadea Medina, turning 103 this year.

Mr. Fu to Lola Amadea, "Alam niyo po ba na ang cr ngayon ay mixed na?" He is obviously joking.

Albert Martinez and Archie Alemania are both products of UST. Archie was even a yellow jacket before.

Look how big the crowd was!

Sweet as ever, the funny John Lapus from HRM.

Cutie patootie RJ Jimenez with his own rendition of Hey, Soul Sister, from the Faculty of Engineering.

Itchyworms was here! Jugs, "Bakit ba hindi kami dito sa UST nag-aral?!"

Former Education High School student now Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo shared her talent.

The most anticipated and most awaited part, countdown and fireworks!

Day 3, January 28, 2011, the day of truth. The day we celebrate UST's 400th year.

A mass was dedicated at 6pm. The Pope's prerecorded video with his message for UST was revealed. Thomasians, former Thomasians and would-be Thomasians kept the fire burning through the Lumina Pandit.

After the mass was the QFiesta. Wherein all Thomasians were given free food, mainly lechon! A little get together to celebrate 400 years of excellence together.

Simultaneous with the QFiesta was the Grand Alumni Homecoming. Former Thomasians, and still Thomasians by heart, from anywhere in the Earth, came to UST to celebrate its 400 years.

Lechon baka. Not quite.

The Pope.

Lumina Pandit, keep the fire burning.

Line awaits for lechon!

Grand Alumni Homecoming.

It indeed was a huge successful! Everyone had fun! Thomasian or not, you are all welcome to celebrate UST's quadricentennial celebration.

"God of all nation ... Imbued with unending grace!"

Your Friendly Photographer

In photography, we do not capture photos, we create them.

I am an EJ photographer but I cannot say that I am really that good at taking photos. I am not a professional photographer, which I wish I could be someday. It's just one of the things that I love doing.

My Nikon and I are best friends since December 25, 2008 and we get along pretty good. Not to mention all that we've been through especially during the Ondoy tragedy. Yes, we've been there.

My external hard drive crashed mid-last year. Unfortunately all my files are gone. To share some of my "well done" shots, here are some of the photos I took last year that I still have on my computer.

And you can see here my most used subject for my photography, lights.

PEOPLE:
As God's greatest creation, they deserved to be photographed.

STARBUCKS:
Because they make one of the best photos ever!

NATURAL THINGS:
God's creation, photographed!

PLACES:
Easy to capture. Just the angles that measures.

STILL OBJECTS:
They stay still.

FIREWORKS:
They have the most amazing colors! With one click, a number of colors splashes!

LIGHTS:
My favorite and most used subject of all time. Because lights can produce different kinds of effects on photos naturally.

So, what can you guys say? Not that much but they are something. Oh yeah.

I pretty much need a lot of improvement. As far as I can see, based on my photos, they are of the same angle. I hope I can learn how to capture at different angles though. Wish me luck on that.

PS. I am your friendly photographer. Just a tweet away! :)
