The Summer I Turned Pretty

This book has been on my shelf for a long time already but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. Well, not until now.

It is actually a Jenny Han Trilogy, the first one's The Summer I Turned Pretty, It's Not Summer Without You being the second and We'll Always Have Summer for the last book. The first time I saw this book was at Fully Booked SM North Edsa. I didn't buy it that time coz I just bought a box set and I don't have enough money with me. Good thing National Bookstore went on sale a couple of weeks after then I got to buy the trilogy already.

Last Tuesday night, I started reading this book. I only got to read the first chapter because I was so sleepy already but I badly want to start reading it already. I tried my best to fight my eyes but sadly I didn't win. Haha. But last night, I got so hooked up to it! That within 3-4 hours I was able to finish the whole book! I'm not really a fast reader. I can finish a book within 1 to 2 weeks whether I'm busy or not. But not this one.

Enough with me blabbering. Here's a short summary of the book. It might interest someone you know. Go ahead.

Belly’s never been the kind of girl that things happen to. Year after year, she’s spent her summers at the beach house with Conrad and Jeremiah. The boys never noticed Belly noticing them. And every summer she hoped it would be different. This time, it was. But the summer Belly turned pretty was the summer that changed everything. For better, and for worse.

I don't know with you but I loved it. It was my kind of book. Books like this are my kind of thing, very chick lit, I know. It's the typical teenage love triangle plot over summer, but there's a twist! It's kind of like a family thing. You know how teenage love lasts during summers right? They even call it as "summer fling" like all relationships that started during summer are all plain flings. But I highly doubt it. You can never have too many summers where all relationships are just flings. Sometimes it is true love. Just like what Belly had for Conrad.

Blah blah blah. You know what I loved most about this book? I kind of like relate myself to it. That's it! That's why I loved it that much!

I had that one summer in my life where I felt I was pretty. That sure was fun as hell. As far as I can remember, I loved every day of that one summer. Until now, I can still remember everything about that one summer. That summer was definitely one of the books. I tried to forget everything that happened on that summer but I can't. Some things always remind me of it, just like this book.

Sorry if I got carried away. Haha. :p Later I might start reading the second franchise. You'll hear from me very soon!

What can you say about it?

Summer Playlist 2012

Hello summer 2012!

I know it's a bit late coz tomorrow is May already and we're half through the summer. But I don't care. Haha.

Music has always been there for me. And it never never never let me down. It actually is my best friend. I may not have been going out lately but music is always there to accompany me.

Whatever. I will be posting my summer playlist for this summer. I wanna show you the songs that I will be listening the whole May. I may add up more songs on the far future but these are what I currently have in my playlist. And I've been playing these songs a lot so far.

It's a mixture of all genre. I have rock, pop, pop rock, rnb, rap and just about everything. My summer playlist is also a mixture of old and new hits. I have tunes way back from the times of My Chemical Romance to today's One Direction. I actually have all the songs of One Direction's album in this playlist and some of their covers.

I am currently addicted to Cher Lloyd and her music. She's got so much swag! Listen to her. Her tunes are something fresh.

Still have my favorite bands on this playlist like Chicosci, Paramore, MCR, Kamikazee and Simple Plan. I don't mind having my summer rocked out by these awesome bands.

Summer will never be the same without party part songs. I have Akon, Pitbull, FEM, Flo Rida and LMFAO. Party party!

And the ladies who never run out of good tunes to give. Like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Plus the guys also who never run out of good tunes to serenade you like Ne-Yo, Chris Brown and Justin Bieber.

Plus the rnb songs I never get tired singing along with. With Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa and Drake.

Just a mixture of everything! Take some time to look at my playlist (click each photo to enlarge). You might find songs that you might actually like. Help yourself! Enjoy the summer hits! :)

Summer Vacation 2012

As I don't want to post too many photos for this blog post, I created a Vlog instead! It's my first time to actually do a vlog. Haha. Yay!

Our family had our first trip this summer 2012 last April 6 - 9. We headed north!

To sum everything up, here's a video of some of the random stuff we did and places where we went.

Made it simple using Power Director. Background music is Summer Paradise by Simple Plan.

Hope you enjoyed my video. :)

Last hoorah for summer

Summe........... I know right? It's bitin.

Didn't get to feel the "summer rush" because of my summer class. I had to attend to my 3 courses from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 2pm. Bummer much.

In the contrary, to bid summer goodbye, my family went to a hotel trip last Saturday night at Diamond Hotel along Roxas Boulevard.

We got free buffet for dinner and breakfast. Plus the executive suite accommodation and swimming pool accommodation.

The dinner.

Our suite has a lovely view of the Manila Bay and Roxas Boulevard at night and during the morning. I just took a bokeh photo of the view at night coz the light from the suite is reflecting from the window.

The buffet for breakfast.

Swimming time! Just so you know, it's my first time to wear bikinis. Hahaha. Pardon me coz I don't have "the" body. Sarreh. Haha. :))

And underwater photos! :)

Had so muuuch fun! Family bonding much! :)

Great escape

While reading this post, you may want to listen to this song. :)

Before our summer class ends, Aya and I together with Anne went to Tali beach at Nasugbu Batangas last Sunday.

It was an IRAYA outing and we couldn't in the world resist it. Though it may seems to be the only time for us to relax from our everyday class-stress.

We left Manila at 7 in the morning that day. The three of us plus Ate Kathy stayed at the back of the van. And for the almost 3 hours of driving, we had so much fun! We were laughing and pointing insults to each other, without offending each other of course.

Arrived the vicinity around 10am. It was a private rest house of Ate Kathy's friend. They aren't present though. The place was very lovely! Everything was so accommodating. There was even a mini pool where you can swim if you don't want to go to the beach.

The second story was closed so we weren't able to steal a look at it. The first floor's okay anyway.

Spent the morning taking photos with Aya and Anne. Before lunch, we divert ourselves to entertain ourselves. We had two games, first one's the pass the water. It goes like this, there are 4 players per team lining up from the pool to the container, the one near the pool have to fetch water using only her bare hands and pass it on until the last player and the last player will fill the container with the amount of water left passed on her. The team with the most water wins. And our team won! Yay!

Second game, it was like a maze but I forgot what they call it. Anyway, there's a maze composed of bottles, rocks and etc. Two among the players will walk through it while the other two will guide them since the first two players are blind-folded. They have to cross the maze without stepping on any of the stones and bottles until they reach the finish line. Each stone or bottle stepped on will be deducted from the perfect score. We lose this game. Booo.

Now it's time for lunch! :)

And we're off to the beach!

Under the heat of the angry sun.

And take a closer look at this photo. You can tell me if I'm wrong ah, but I think this is where the Babaeng Hampaslupa teleserye on TV5 shoot one of their first scenes, right? Yeah, I think so.

Stayed at the beach until 2:30 because we have to leave by 3:30 in the afternoon.

Arrived Manila around 8:40 in the evening. There was a huge traffic in Tagaytay that caused our late arrival.

I arrived home around 9:30 in the evening. And found myself sleeping at 10:50. #justsharing

We had soooooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuuch fun! Another successful adventure with Aya and first with Anne. In other words, more to come!

Thank you Aya and Anne for the great and wonderful accompany.
Thank you IRAYA for the unforgetable experience.
Thank you UP friends for being very friendly.
Thank you Lord for keeping us safe.

Before anything else, watch this!
