All hail the Queen!

Ever since I saw the movie Bohemian Rhapsody last November, I'm all about Queen.

If there's one thing I shouldn't forget about 2018, it is this movie. It made me realize that I really belong to this kind of music or genre. I've always been a rock band fan. I listen to their music even before the movie came out but I got to appreciate them more as a band after seeing it on screen. The movie really deserved that Golden Globe award. Way to go guys!

And ever since seeing the movie, I've been listening to their songs on full repeat. I actually made a playlist on Spotify so I can loop them all day loooong. If I were to pick my top 3 most played song it would be Radio Ga Ga, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are the Champions.

If you've seen the movie, then you'll know that at the end of it was their Live Aid 1985 concert. While at the cinema it felt like you were actually in a concert. The sound system was brilliant. My mom even gave a standing ovation after the movie. Hahaha. It really felt like a real concert. Anyway, I found a copy of the real Queen Live Aid full concert on youtube and I think I've watched this movie for 6 times already with full speakers on haha so I can feel the music and the people singing like it was real. Attaching the copy here from youtube.

Ayooo! Haha. Grabe yung concert noh? But have you noticed that the people were raising their hands the entire time you wouldn't see a single camera or phone up on air? Now that's feeling and enjoying a concert at its finest.

Comment below your thoughts about Queen or the movie. Or anything you'd like to share :)

Thank you for reading!

Best of Oh-Twelve

I must say, 2012 has been one of the best years for me! A lot of things happened and here are the top 12 events that made it worth it.

PS. Some of the titles are linked to the blogs I posted about it before. :)

1) Be a Teacher
It was such an overwhelming experience to be able to fulfill a noble profession even for a while. In other words, nakakataba ng puso. Sobra. :)

2) Graduate college with a bachelor degree
All 4 years in college paid of! This is for you Mom and Dad! :)

3) Family trip to Vigan and Caramoan
Because we were not able to do this last year. This the year for it!

4) Opening Green Berries
I had online shops before way back in my first year in college but none of them lasts like this one. I'm so happy I opened Green Berries. It continues to help me seek other opportunities and options where to get money from when I need it the most. And I really love and enjoy what I'm doing!

5) Winning MYX's One Direction CD giveaway
I also learned about One Direction this year, around early of January 2012. And I've been a huge fan since then! That every One Direction giveaway I see, I make sure I will have an entry. Thankfully, I won this one from MYX! Thank you so much for the CD and the mini standee! Love it so much!

6) Entering the College of Science
I'm so used to people asking me what year I am in already and I tell them the story behind it over and over again, that I'm attending school just so I could go into med school and that I already graduated. But nonetheless, a first semester in the College of Science was fun and very challenging for a Math-lover like me.

7) Attend concerts
In this year alone, I was able to attend 5 concerts! That's a new record for me! Usually I only get to attend 2 though, but not this year. It all started with Simple Plan last January, the story behind Jet Lag. Then lots of bands with the Smash Project last March, all thanks to Thea! One of the biggest parties of the year with LMFAO at their Party Rock tour in Manila with my siblings. Barbie-ed with Nicki Minaj last July with my sister Jaja. Right after Nicki was David Cook with my Ninang Pyay for the second time. 2012 was really a concert filled year for me. :)

Simple Plan

The Used - Smash Project

Dashboard Confessional - Smash Project

Cobra Starship - Smash Project

The Cab - Smash Project

LMFAO

Nicki Minaj

David Cook

8) Have my first talk about photography
Who would have thought! Who would have thought that my passion in photography will take me this far? I know! Hahaha. :))

9) Passing the LET
Right after graduation, everyone's been so excited and thrilled about the upcoming board exam for teachers which is called LET. My first plan was to review for LET and start studying science on the 2nd sem, but instead I just went to school and didn't devote any time to review for LET. But thank God, with all my heart, I was able to pass it without the effort of reviewing. What an early Christmas gift!

10) UST grabbing the PCCL Championship
I was in 3rd year high school when UST grabbed its last UAAP champion against Ateneo. In this year's UAAP basketball, we were almost there and were just a bit short. But the team was able to bounce back at the PCCL tournament and won the championship. I'm so happy I was able to witness this win!

Thank you Coach Dopids!

11) Meet new friends
And they're all younger than me! Yung age ko paurong eh! Hahaha. Love you girls! :)

12) Read a lot of books
Another record broken for 2012, the year where I read the most number of books in a year. Woohoo! Yay for 2012! This the year where my being a bookworm grew. The year where I bought a lot of books and the year where I read a lot of books.

And a lot lot more 2012 events that are worth sharing! But these will do. :)

Best year so far, right? And I'm on my way to make 2013 even better!

What's the best thing that happened to you in 2012?

David Cook live in Manila 2012

I have always been a fan of Mr. David Cook, ever since his American Idol days. I watch it everytime it airs on television. I also preferred him than David Archuleta. And was absolutely happy when they announced that the winner of the American Idol season 7 was none other than David, and of course, David Cook!

Just in case some of you do not know how he got into American Idol, I will narrate it briefly. He didn't really enter for American Idol. It was his brother who joined American Idol. But David was asked by the judges back then, I think it was the last year where Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were there, to sing. And he got in! And from then on he improved and was announced the winner of the 7th season of the American Idol. Talk about getting lucky!

It was 2008 when he won the American Idol. In 2009, David Cook together with David Archuleta came to Manila for a one night concert in the SM MOA concert grounds. Tell you guys, I was there! Yup! I was at that concert! Haha. Told you I was a fan since then. :))

Actually, my Ninang Peeyay here is the one who is soooooooo hook up with David Cook. She's responsible for bringing me to these David Cook concerts. But I'm actually glad and happy about it. No regrets, just love. <3

I was so happy when I heard about the news that David Cook is coming back to Manila. Immediately bought our tickets to the show online and voila! We're ready!

The day has finally arrive. I'm very very very sorry for the very very low-res photos. I was having a hard time fighting against the lights. :/

Hope he comes back for the 3rd time and I wouldn't miss it in the world! :)

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Tour in Manila

This be the concert of the year! I can't contain my emotions. I'm so happy! So happy that I finally got to see Ms. Nicki Minaj live. I just love her!

Tell you what, Nicki Minaj is pretty. Inside and out! I'm sure of that. She was smiling the whole time! And that's what I love about her the most.

I think she almost cried because of happiness. Because of all the people whose eyes are all on her. Because of how we showed how we love her. Gotta love this barbz!

The way you hear her voice in her songs, that's exactly what you will hear when she's live. Exactly the same!

Good to know that she sang most of my favorite songs of her. I was really hoping that she would perform Automatic, Whip It and Marilyn Monroe, turns out she really did! Yaaay!

One of my favorite parts was Automatic. I was totally singing my heart out! I was jumping up and down and didn't care about the people around me. All hands up in the air with matching screaming and jumping. Oh yeaaah! I was having the time of my life! It feels like dancing-like-no-one's-watching.

Another favorite part was Whip It. Well, most people do not know this song, and Automatic, but I was at my highest rush that I screamed and jumped to the maximum.

"This song is for the man who broke my heart." -Nicki Minaj, then she sang Fire Burn. You piece of sh*t, you broke me down. And after that song, "and this song is for the man who's heart I broke," then she sang Save Me.

And yes, Super Bass. Her finale song. Everyone was singing and dancing to it! So happy that everyone is having so much fun!

And more and more and more and more happened. I just don't know how to start telling you. Honestly. Hahaha. Still got the Pink Friday hangover. :))

I took some photos and videos, of course, but not that much because I'd rather scream, sing and jump than to document the show. But at least I have a few just for the sake of having some. These are just some because most of my shots were blurry because I was so busy jumping. Haha. Will just post the videos soon.

By the way, Jaja and I got the Patron Blue tickets. Yaaay!

At the venue @ MOA, Arena.

Was with my more die-hard Nicki Minaj fan sister Jaja.

And me of course.

She's heeeeereeee!

First attire. Favorite! :)

Second attire. She looks more like a princess here. And look! She's smiling too. :)

Third attire. All pink pretty dress.

Fourth attire. Love it! So Nicki Minaj!

She already said her goodbye but we kept on chanting "We want more!" so she went out with her pink robes on! Such a cutie!

She said that she will never ever forget Manila. It reminds her of her hometown and that Filipinos will always have a special place in her heart. Sweeeet. :)

Plus! Just in case you don't know, Philippines is the only country in Asia that she's visiting. Way to go Globe and BlackberryPH!

By the looks of it, Nicki will surely come back. And when that time comes, I'll be at the front row Ms. Nicki. I'll see again, up really close. :)

After singing my heart out last night, here I am, blogging, with no voice. Hahaha.

Thank you so much Globe and Blackberry Pilipinas! This is all on you guys! Thank you so much! We had sooooooooooooo much fun!

I have a lot more to tell you guys but I don't know how. So odd. Haha.

This has to be my second favorite concert so far, next to Paramore. Love you barbz!

I had so much fun! How about you? Share your Pink Friday Manila experience too! :)

LMFAO experience

The LMFAO concert was one of the concerts that I don't wanna miss. Unfortunately, I miss their first visit here in the Philippines. I was in second year college back then I guess, can't really remember, but I know I had classes the day after that's why I wasn't able to go to their concert.

But this 2012, I will not surely miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.

April 11, 2012. 2 days after we arrive from our Vigan trip. I and my sibings Jaja and Jessie went to the LMFAO concert in Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

I heard that it was going to be a huge party party concert. There was even a memo that we have to be ready to get wet. But we didn't coz we weren't at the front rows.

They didn't have any front acts. It was them right from the start. Too bad, only Redfoo was there and Skyblue was sick. Thus the LMFAO concert was not that fulfilling. If one of the LMFAO dudes is absent, party rocking is not satisfied.

Nevertheless, the concert was hellafun. I got on my feet the whole time and was dancing like I'm in a club. Yeah I miss that feeling. So thanks to LMFAO and their super duper duper awesome dancers! I envy these dancers so much! They're so good!

Here's a mini-clip that I did which shows some of the songs they played. I cut a lot of scenes though so it will not be that long. Enjoy!

Simple Plan Saved My Life

Currently on Twitter's top 7 trending topic in the Philippines and top 8 worldwide. How cool is that!

Simple Plan has always been a part of my childhood. I've always liked their songs Addicted, I'm Just A Kid, Shut Up, Perfect and more. They were hiatus for a long time and got back with their third album where I liked their songs When I'm Gone, Your Love is A Lie and more. And now, they're back with their fourth album, Get Your Heart On!

I was so happy that one of their songs, Can't Keep My Hands Off You, is included in the soundtrack of a Disney movie, Prom. I was hooked up with that song, until I learned about their song Jet Lag. If my iPod's on twitter, the song Jet Lag is the top trending topic. It was on always on repeat!

To admit it, I was in love with the song Jet Lag since then. Then I remembered how I loved the band Simple Plan since I was a child. I always dreamed of jumping and head banging with the band live, and this concert tour definitely made it happen.

The time I saw the poster, I was like, "DEFINITELY GOING THERE!" Was supposed to buy the VIP ticket which costs 4,500php but I got no one to go with.

In the end, decided to buy the upper box b ticket, one for me and one for Yayen. He had to accompany me. It was my treat. Hahaha.

I don't have any decent photo of them on stage because they look small back from where I was standing. But here are some. And the rest are photos I grabbed from Simple Plan Philippines website.

Arrived Araneta at exactly 8pm, just when Kamikazee is about to play their first song. Here's Kamikazee opening for Simple Plan.

At 9:10 in the evening, the band showed up! I was up on till then until the end of the show. I almost cried during the concert. I'm just so happy to see them live. It has always been my dream. I never thought I'd see them live.

The next time they'll be here, I'm be the one in front. I'll buy the most expensive ticket! Coz by that time I'm sure I have a job already and will really save up for Simple Plan. I love them like that!

I don't know what to say anymore. I'm just so happy.

The following photos are not mine. :)

I LOVE YOU SIMPLE PLAN! TILL WE MEET AGAIN. :)
